Our Ethiopian communities must keep in touch with each other to help one another succeed and grow. One community's achievement should be everyone's triumph. We must network our people to keep each other informed on current events and projects. We will teach one another how to be more productive and successful if we keep our lines of communication active.
Empowering the Youth
The Ethiopian youths must begin to understand the efforts that are being made to uphold our community. Parents must expose their children to the needs that our community has so that our efforts do not fall apart. A spirit of continuity and legacy must be developed to ensure the success of our community. The youths must be prepared to carry on the torch for the Ethiopian people in America or even the diaspora.
Enlighten the World
I want the general public to recapture the respect and admiration they once had for Ethiopia. We need to show the people in our communities how positive the Ethiopian community is for our society. We must get the communities around the world more active in improving themselves and promoting a healthy sense of pride in Ethiopia's culture and traditions. The key is presenting this spirit using the media!
Unite the Leaders
I want to establish the Ethiopian Students Association of Texas (ESAT) to build chapters in universities and in the community so that more students can learn leadership and teamwork skills for their professional development. The way to unite them all will be through ESAT having an annual state conference that will pull the state's Ethiopian youth leaders together to discuss how to improve our community and our future.
rejoice when we reach the peak. It is not that easy to see the peak right now, but many have had visions of what it will look like. I have had a vision, and I want to tell you all that it is a glorious sight!
